outside the comfort zone

i always see these inspirational quotes on many of the blogs i follow which say that you should always or often be outside your comfort zone in your life's pursuits.
well last week i definitely did that when i took a MIG welding class with ethan. you might ask, "what's the big deal?" and i would reply that it's super freaky to melt steel with a electric current that would kill you if something went wrong.
 the set-up
venting for the gas that's released during the weld.
my palms were sweaty, ethan had a blast.

ethan's super respectable weld in the center surrounded by some really bad welds on the outside. it's kind of tricky -you can't see a thing while you're welding.
