the good and the not zer gut: the kitchen

the good:
i usually make blackberry pies rather than blueberry but trader joe's had some organic frozen wild blueberries, which are smaller, that i thought i'd try.
mix with instant tapioca and dump in pre-made crust. no sugar.
 glaze with apricot jam and bake for 1 hour @ 375.

the not zer gut:
i admit that these lentils have been sitting around for a while but i figured these things are dried and should last forever, right?
well i cooked them up with some minced onions and let them simmer a bit when i noticed that something looked a little funny...
yes it's true.  those are bugs in there!!!! gross, right? went with plan B for dinner which thankfully wasn't cereal.
