Hack Attack

Yesterday I had to rush out to San Anselmo to pick up Kit, who had puked at school, which left me housebound with a sick guy for the rest of the day.

Feeling a little cooped up by 5, I decided to hack back the maiden grass, which was due for its annual trim.

 It seems like it goes brown overnight.

 Hedgehogs. 

 I know this seems dramatic but it totally grows back.

Yard looks bigger when it's cut back.

Had to be creative for dinner with what I had on hand.  Dover cod (frozen, trader joe's) with parsley and butter, potatoes with (canned!) peas. Was actually very good.
