Going to the Dark Side

Here is the victim of my "paint it dark and matte" mania.

There are a whole-lotta blacks and greys from which to choose. I'm not sure yet if a matte finish latex will be matte enough or if I will need to make a modified chalkboard paint by adding a small amount of unsanded grout. And then, if I do have to add the grout if it will change the color at all.

Not sure if I should start with black-black...

or go with lead grey...

or gravel grey. 

Remember it is this that I'm after.
