Made in the Shade

Remember those street-find maiden ferns that I picked up recently? Well, they are very happy outside, much more so than indoors.

I did a quick transplant today into this zinc container that was holding dead feather grass... nice.

I used to curse this shady corner of my garden because the grass was all mangy. Now it is like my favorite area. Can't wait until that creeping fig finally fills in on the whole wall, lord knows I've been waiting long enough. Putting in the wood chips and giving this area enough water was what finally turned this corner around.
