You can find One Room Challenge: The Shed -Week Two right here.
I've got this really great shed in my back yard that is currently in a really bad way. Right now it is serving as a crap repository *cough* I mean, garden shed. My goal is to turn this into a cozy work space for Oliver and Ethan, like a bona fide office space.
Well, as luck would have it, the fabulous One Room Challenge from Calling It Home has just begun in blogland, and anyone who wants to have a fire lit under them can be a linking participant.
Sign me up sister, because this place needs a major overhaul.
It's got a little wood burning stove that Ethan and I installed last winter.
It's got windows along the north wall and the door is at the northwest corner, let's just designate that the Kim/Kanye kiddy corner.
The room gets a fair amount of light but is prone to feeling damp and suffers from too many spiders and spider webs. Part of the reason for this is the door and windows aren't sealed properly (our seal job around the stove pipe is pretty janky), so I definitely want to fix this since both my husband and son are admitted arachnid phobes. As you can see here, everything is filthy and could probably use a coat of paint.

In terms of design objectives, I want this room to have a gentleman's quarters sort of vibe. Comfortable and authentic, not too precious but polished all the same. Definitely NOT a shabby chic, cute potting shed turned office thing.
Loving how un-cute this one is too.
So in order to get this done I'm envisioning:
Purge, purge, purge.
One Major clean of the floor, walls and ceiling.
Seal windows and door.
Painting the white walls and ceiling a darker color.
Paint fire proof board behind stove.
Floor treatment on concrete?
Suitable rug for floor.
Desk, chairs and accessories, art, etc. etc. etc.
I'm really, really excited about this project and I'm so looking forward to discovering some new blogs from the linky loo section. Hurrah! Head over here to see all the excitement.
