Thrift

Thrift, repair, recycle. Call it what you will. I am into it.

These Haflinger boiled wood clogs have been a staple in my wardrobe for many years. They are super comfortable and I generally wear them around the house or for a quick walk into town to get some coffee. Not high fashion but cute with jeans on a Saturday morning.

This is my third pair and with each one I've always had the same issue -the shape of my toes and the way that I walk has me wearing through the felt at the toe.

I'm into the visible stitch.

I used a curved quilter's needle and some thick Gutermann thread. The curve of the needle allows getting in and out of that toe area from the outside of the shoe. First I sewed some straight parallel stitches and then criss-crossed between them.

Cheers.
